when all the sudden it hits me. a new blog entry idea.
Dialect
dialects are every where. From country to country, state to state, even region to region. We all have our own way of saying things. The wonderful world of internet chatting even has it's own little dialect of sorts. maybe it's more code than dialect, and to those that are unfamiliar they see it more as hieroglyphics.
Let me just give you a sample of what i mean. This is what a normal online conversation between Julie and me would look like:

good thx.
brb ggp
k me 2 but gggdc
b
me 2 wb mu
lol thx
roflmao

To you, that may all seem very normal....but to a newbie it's befuddling!

Having been all over the world... well at least some of it... I have some experience with dialect... and it's a tricky business...
this shorthand language you and ju have invented, though, tops them all!
just do us all a favor... either send us an interpretation sheet, or refrain from the abbreviated speech with us newbies! :)

There is even dialects in ASL. (American Sign Language) It's so darn interesting! People who sign in SOCAL do so with both hands, and very fast. Peeps in NORCAL modify their signs sometimes only using one hand, and sign much slower. Just thought you'd think it was neat!

You know, you are right. And it never even dawned on me even though I have a nephew that communicates through sign! And trust me, he has a dialect all his own! LOL Gotta be quick to keep up with him.
