Slow it down, ridemaster!
Have you ever felt like your life was comparable to that of being inside a washing machine stuck on the spin cycle during a tornado?
That's me lately.
Work has been so crazy, and my homelife has only contributed further chaos. There are times I just want to call out for Calgon to take me away, and wish it would really happen.
On a lighter note, I have finally started my Christmas shopping. I didn't think I would ever get in the right frame of mind, but I did. Spent the better part of last weekend and my Veteran's Day holiday in the mall. I like to shop, once I can coax myself inside mall. Getting there is hard part. So I venture to the mall for the 2nd time this season yesterday and find myself inside the Dillard's store. I ride the escalator to the upper level where the children's clothes are located and weave around through the masses of clothes racks to the back corner where my daughter's sizes are found. Being the bargain shopper that I was raised to be I headed directly for the clearance racks. The red sign atop the rack proclaims 30-50% off sales. So I begin my quest for the best buys, scouring the racks, piece by piece when I overhear a store employee asking a co-worker where she is supposed to hang the 75% off dresses she just marked. I must have become a foot taller trying to see where she was putting them because it seemed no one in the store knew I existed until that moment. She asked if she could help me find something.....well DER! Point me to the rack where the 75% off items are going to be located! Much to my delight, I was the first shopper to take advantage of these newly discounted prices! I was THRILLED! As it happens so often in my life, the employees of the store got a good laugh as I offered to help them hang the clothes, or stick new labels so as to rush the discounting process.
All in all, I had a good shopping day. I know I've had a good shopping day when I feel like i need more arms to carry all my stuff to the car....and that's the way I felt. Only, with my bargain buys, it didn't put near as big a dent in my checkbook as it could have! And my kids are going to love me even more than they do now!
So here it is....I am officially in the shopping mood! Yanno, now that I think about it, this is probably why I don't really care for shopping the rest of the year....cause I get burnt out during this season and it takes a year for me to recuperate.
Happy Shopping!
